Parent Support Partners
About This Service
Parent support partners provide support to parents and family of children with a serious emotional disturbance or intellectual/development disability, including autism spectrum disorder. As part of the treatment process, parent support partners assist with empowering family members while also increasing confidence, knowledge, and skills to enable parents and family to improve their child’s functioning. Utilizing their lived experience, trained parent support partners provide education, coaching, and support to enhance the mental health treatment process. Services are provided in the home or community. Parent support partners remain an active member of the treatment team.
